Kristen Dage Awarded Postdoctoral Fellowship
PhD Candidate Kristen Dage has been awarded the McGill Space Institute (MSI) Postdoctoral Fellowship. This fellowship supports 2–3 years as a postdoctoral researcher at MSI.
MSI promotes interdisciplinary research between faculty in the Physics, Earth and Planetary Sciences, Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, and Natural Resource Sciences departments at McGill University in Montréal, Canada. Research areas include astrophysics, cosmology, planetary science, atmospheric science, and astrobiology. It is this interdisciplinary nature that most excites Dage about working at MSI. She will be working with Dr. Daryl Haggard at MSI, continuing her research on multi-wavelength observations of ultra-luminous X-ray sources found in globular clusters.
Dage, who has been advised by Dr. Steve Zepf, will be defending her PhD dissertation in late May. Dage completed her bachelors at the University of Michigan-Dearborn in 2014, where she did research with Dr. Will Clarkson. She is the first astronomy graduate student from MSU to receive a postdoctoral fellowship immediately after completing the program.
